Technology Applications Teacher Network

Our Mission

The Technology Applications Teacher Network is a collaborative project between the twenty Texas Education Service Centers and the Texas Education Agency and is designed to provide Texas teachers with resources to implement the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills in the K-12 classroom.

This web site contains resources to teach the six dedicated High School Technology Applications Courses (Digital Graphics/ Animation, Desktop Publishing, Web Mastering, Multimedia, Video Technology and Computer Science). It also contains resources to integrate the K-8 Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills into the content area classroom.

The purpose of the Technology Applications Teacher Network Forum is for teachers to share with other teachers:

  • Strategies for making connections with core curriculum areas
  • Classroom resources for teaching the Technology Applications TEKS
  • Lesson and unit plans incorporating Technology Applications and core curriculum TEKS
  • Resources for offering online or virtual courses
  • Student or teacher evaluation methods for documenting technology literacy and integration across the curriculum
  • Collaboration ideas for working with school librarians
  • Opportunities for professional development
  • School success stories highlighting the implementation of the Technology Applications TEKS at grades K-8 or in Technology Applications courses at the high school level (19 TAC Chapter 126)
  • Useful news articles related to Technology Applications or educational technology

The TATN Forum will be moving to Project Share early in the 2010-2011 school year. Watch for the announcement!
